Educating the next generation of Jewish leaders
Denver Academy of Torah was founded in 1993 by a group of parents looking to create a school focused on excellence in both Judaic and General studies, where students could develop strong bonds to the State of Israel, become upstanding moral citizens who are productive members of society. Today, Denver Academy of Torah is a thriving K-12 school serving families from a diverse background, including 12 synagogues throughout Metro Denver.
Throughout our 32-year history, DAT has maintained a focus on preparing students for today’s world by providing a robust education, while teaching students to become proud leaders of the Jewish community in Denver and beyond.
History
Created to fill a distinct need, Denver Academy of Torah has grown and evolved to serve today’s students with both relevance and reverence. The school was started in 1993 by a determined group of parents looking to create a school focused on excellence in both Judaic and general studies, where students could develop strong bonds to the land and State of Israel, and be nurtured to develop into upstanding moral citizens who are productive members of society and play leadership roles in the Jewish community and beyond.
DAT began in a small building owned by a local synagogue to cater to families who were interested in the warm and nurturing environment, the focus on both general and Judaic studies and the strong sense of Zionism and love of Israel.
In 1999, DAT moved into our current location on a gorgeous, nine-acre campus. In 2010, in response to a strong community need, the school expanded its offerings with the opening of an off-campus high school. In January 2019, the high school relocated to its current location — The Glassman Education Campus in Denver’s Lowry neighborhood.
